Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes — contributions to the North Bend School Foundation are exempt from federal income tax under section 170c of the Internal Revenue Code.
Can I give stocks or leave a gift in my will?
Yes. Planned gifts like stocks or bequests made in one’s will, trust or retirement can be donated to the North Bend School Foundation Fund. Please contact a board member for additional information, however, we encourage you to consult with your tax and legal advisors.
How can I donate?
We welcome donations at any time! One-time direct contributions may be made by credit card or check. We can also make arrangements for monthly, quarterly, or repeat annual donations. Just click on the donate button on the home page to begin the process. And thank you!
Where does the money go?
The North Bend School Foundation works diligently to minimize expenses by soliciting volunteers for legal and accounting services. Costs that we do incur include printing, mailing and advertising.
How does the Foundation raise money?
As a foundation we are active with an Alumni Challenge Campaign, Spring Dessert Event, and Annual Donation Request Letters.
Can I see the Foundation’s financial reports?
Yes! We post them to this website (check the “our accountability” tab). If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact a board member.
Who decides where my donation goes?
The North Bend School Foundation reviews grant applications (submitted by classroom teachers) in the summer and will award grants in September. The process will repeat with a second application process during winter term and an award presentation at the Spring Fundraiser.
Can I earmark my donation for a specific school?
We have determined three areas for donors to earmark their donation – School Grant Fund, Homeless Student Fund and our General Fund. Our goal is to fairly distribute the funds across all schools in the district.

What is North Bend School Foundations relationship with the school district?
The Foundation is independent of the district and has a separate board. Its mission is to enhance the educational experience for North Bend students.
How do I establish an endowment?
While any amount can be added to an existing endowment, the minimum amount necessary to establish a new endowment to support a specific area of interest, is $25,000.
