Authored by local historian Steven Greif, a former teacher and coach at North Bend High, the book describes the growth of an Oregon coastal school and the importance of athletics and activities in a small-town community. Although mainly focusing on NBHS, the book also has stories about sports teams and sports facilities throughout Coos County including a complete list of champions from the oldest continuously held annual track meet in Oregon – the Coos County Track & Field Meet.
Greif is a board member of the North Bend School Foundation. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to the NBSF.
