NBHS Trade School Wins Grant

On behalf of the North Bend School Foundation, we would like to thank the Coquille Indian Tribe for their assistance with funding for projects at the new North Bend High School Trade School program. The NBSF recently helped the school, and instructor Garrett Holmes, complete the winning grant application.

The Trade School Building opened on the east side of the NBHS campus in 2019. Over 100 students each term will be able to have instruction in the building. Students are learning all aspects of the construction industry and will have skills upon graduation that will be valuable as they enter the labor market.

In March of 2020, Brenda Meade, Coquille Tribal Chair (left) presented a check for $10,000 for use at the NBHS Trade School. Accepting the award was Ray Nelsen, NBSF board member, and Garrett Holmes, NBHS Trade School instructor.
